Arkansas State Library Depository Program: Accessing Submissions

How and when to deposit official NWACC Publications with the Arkansas State Library

Arkansas State Library Catalog

Access is provided to all documents submitted, both print and digital, through the state library’s online catalog.

Digital documents are freely available from the state library’s digital repository, which also has its own search interface.

Physical items are available for loan from both the Arkansas State Library and the state depository libraries.

Additionally, the Arkansas State Library also provides access to its documents by lending requested materials to other libraries via its Interlibrary Loan program.

The state Library's online catalog can be accessed from anywhere on the library’s website, from the Reference/Resources drop-down menu on the main navigation bar

The state library has over half a million records in its catalog, so it is advisable to set parameters when searching

Use the basic search interface only if you know the specific title

Power searching allows you to set parameters for multiple fields

Accessing Digital Documents

  • Catalog records for digital items provide a direct link to the corresponding document in the repository, also known as CONTENTdm
  • The repository also has its own search interface, with both simple and advanced options
  • By default, the basic interface executes a keyword search across all fields
  • The repository uses Dublin Core metadata, so the field names may appear slightly different than the catalog; e.g. author = contributor
  • Can search up to 4 fields at once
  • Remove any unused fields before executing the search or you will get an error
  • In addition to the 4 fields, you can also specify a date, range of dates, or items published before or after a particular date
  • Can also limit the search to one or more digital collections
