Arkansas State Library Depository Program: General Records Retention Schedule and Archive Functions

How and when to deposit official NWACC Publications with the Arkansas State Library

Role of the Arkansas State Library

The Arkansas State Library does NOT collect nor serve as a repository for agency records, however…

Some agency records listed in the Arkansas General Retention Schedule are also state documents which should be deposited with the library.

Arkansas General Records Retention Schedule

For more information on Records Retention Schedules, please visit the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration website.

When discarding records according to the Arkansas General Records Retention Schedule from Act 918 of 2005, please contact the Arkansas State Library beforehand and provide a list of the materials slated for discard that fall under the following sections:

•GS 01005 News Releases
•GS 01006 State Publications
•GS 01007 Formal Presentations
•GS 01008 Published Papers / Reports
•GS 01009 Training Materials
•GS 02001 Meeting Minutes
•GS 05006 Audit Reports

This grants the library an opportunity to review the list of items being discarded, and to determine whether or not any of the items should be included in the depository.
