Services for Faculty & Staff

What Are Course Reserves?

The Library's Course Reserves service allows faculty and instructors to make recommended or required course materials in a variety of formats--books, articles, media, calculators, and even rocks--available to students.

Course Reserves are held at the Circulation Desk. Checkout times are limited to 2 hours, and materials must stay in the library.

Due to cost, textbooks are by far the most requested item for Course Reserves. Faculty may donate or loan a textbook to the library, and we will then make it available to the students for use in the library for a short check out period. Faculty may retrieve any items loaned to the library at any time.

Special Note for Biology & Chemistry Faculty: Course Reserves include a copy of both the Biology and the Chemistry lab manual which can be copied instead of printing. This will save your students time. Due to high demand, we recommend copying/printing well before the class start time.

Adding an Item to Course Reserve

In order to add an item to our Course Reserve collection, simply bring the item to the library. You will need to fill out a Course Reserve Request form, which can be done via our online form (linked below) or a printed copy (linked below and available in the library).
