Do-It-Yourself Library: Browse Print Library Books

I Want To Browse Print Books In The Library On My Topic

Like books in a public library, books in academic libraries are grouped by subject which further categorized. The Library of Congress Classification Outline can help you identify call numbers for your subject. Then you can find where the call numbers are in the library using your subjects.

Since books on your subject will likely be located together, you can also search the catalog (for print books and dvds) or use NWACC library's Search Everything (then narrow down your results to show only catalog items) for a few relevant books and then browse the shelves around that book.

To search books first enter 1-3 keywords that describe your topic in the NWACC library Search Everything and then narrow down your results to show only "Catalog Items" now you will have books and dvds from NWACC library's physical collection with their call number (book location within the library shelves). Now click -  catalog item call number and
