Librarians can assist with your course assignment which involves research, we can recommend information literacy learning outcomes and assessment methods and suggest ways to incorporate library resources. This should help your students steer away from inferior websites and toward higher quality sources.

TutorialsOur tutorials guide students through a piece of content, such as a website, research database, or research activity, providing contextual information along the way. Tutorials can even include graded questions for assessing the student’s understanding of the content. See an example with this tutorial for Composition II. VideosOur videos cover both generalized and class-specific content. While a some are published on our Library Research Guides and YouTube, many are custom content for specific instructor. These customized videos can be placed directly within the Canvas module. |
Library Guides/Subject GuidesNWACC Librarians have developed a series of guides covering many research and study skills, plus succinct guides to citation styles. Faculty may want to link to these in Canvas. Additionally, the Librarians have developed Subject Guides for specific areas taught at NWACC. These typically cover basic research techniques; library research sources, including our large collection of databases; and high-quality web sites.

Do you need a classroom for your students to do research and work on assignments or a large meeting space?
The Library Classroom in BH 1208 has a collaborative, small group seating arrangement, 24 laptops, and a presenter computer with a projector and a Smart Board.
This is not a Library Information Literacy session. If you would like more library information than 20 minutes allows, overviews of the databases, or or other Library Information Literacy Instruction, please request using the Information Literacy Instruction form instead.
Library tours last approximately 10-20 minutes. They are best held during the first 3-4 weeks of the semester. Please book at least one week in advance if possible.
To request a streaming video purchase for your course please use the form below.
Please submit streaming video requests at least 2 weeks before they are needed. Due to licensing costs and budgetary considerations, requests are approved on a first-come basis while funds remain. Most streaming licenses are valid for one year from the date of activation and must be renewed every year. You may view options for streaming databases to see what is already available.
