Top News Sources

The library provides current NWACC faculty, students, and staff a digital New York Times account with your nwacc.edu email.

Once you create an account, you can log in to access the Times from any device by going to nytimes.com


To set up your account for the first time please follow these 4 steps. See a walk-through of these steps.

Step 1: Navigate to www.accessnyt.com

Step 2: Search for and select "NorthWest Arkansas Community College – Bentonville, AR"

You will be redirected to the NYT registration page.

Step 3: Click "Create Account." You must use your nwacc.edu email.

Step 4: Verify your account (you will receive a confirmation email)*

* The confirmation email may be routed to your spam folder. You must click the link in this email to complete the registration.

Mobile access

Access for smartphones and tablets is provided with the Library's subscription. Download the app on your device and log in using your NY Times account credentials created above.

The Chronicle of Higher Education is the leading source of news and commentary about the events, people, and issues shaping higher education.  

By using The Chronicle through the library, you get the complete contents of the latest issue; daily news and advice columns; thousands of current job listings; an archive of previously published content; vibrant discussion forums; and career-building tools such as online CV management, salary databases, and more.

Once you create an account, you can log in to access The Chronicle from any device by going to chronicle.com

How to Set Up Your Account

1. Visit Chronicle.com, and complete the information requested in the form. You will receive an email to confirm your registration and activate your account.

2. Once your account is activated login in the upper right-hand corner of the page.

  1. Use your NWACC email address and create a password.
  2. Once you have created your free account, you can log in to access The Chronicle of Higher Education from any device.

To Access Via Tablet

  1. Download The Chronicle of Higher Education app from the App Store onto your iPad.
  2. You will be required to login using your free account credentials (NWACC email and password you created in steps above).
  3. The Chronicle will appear in your Newsstand on the iPad.  You will be able to download editions to your iPad, and when finished, archive them so they are removed from your iPad. (If you archive an edition, you can also easily re-download at a later date, if you wish.  Archiving read editions will free up space).

 

This resource offers faculty additional teaching resources geared to using NY Times articles in your classes. Resources include faculty selected articles, instructional strategies and optional weekly newsletters across nine discipline areas: American government, business, criminal justice, economics, environmental sciences, international relations, leadership, psychology, and writing & English composition.

Access The New York Times in Education via the Library's A-Z Database page or by using the link above.

New York Times in Education Register for account

Follow the prompts to create your account using your NWACC email address. You must use your NWACC email address and create a password.
