Type of help available

  • Transfer and conversion of files.
    • Once you’ve set up and got an interview you're going to start needing to record: audio, video, and depending on how many people you decide to include it could all add up quickly. It does not matter if you use your cell phone or recording device, I can help you located and transfer those files into Audacity. Most but not all cell phones use audio formats which need to be converted so they can be edited in Audacity.
  • Learning and using Audacity
    •  I can show you how to download and install Audacity on both Mac and Windows, record live audio, and import and play existing audio files. Do you need help with the basics? I can help you perform basic editing tasks such as copying and pasting audio, splitting clips, and adding effects.
  • Zoom and Teams
    • Getting and interview during this Pandemic will be hard. I foresee some of you recording a interview with Zoom or Teams. Even though the recording is a video, I can assist you in detaching the video from the audio. Phone interview are another option which can be easy.  Most cell pones have a recording app or function installed. Not installed? Download one off the App Store or Google Play Store. Free application will have adds. Finally, always make sure to ask for permission when recording audio or video.
