The NWACC Library provides equipment (cameras, microphones, computers and software) for users to create and complete multimedia projects. Staff is on-hand to assist in getting you started and can point users to helpful tutorials along the way. While our workstations are primarily Mac based we do offer a PC for patrons who wish to work with Windows products.
Although class-related productions are given top priority, the production and post-production equipment/software are also available to students, faculty and staff for personal development and artistic vision. Whether you’d like to produce a documentary, slide show, digital art, tape a speech or record audio, – we are here to help!
We will not do your project for you or offer a production team, but we will provide training opportunities and the majority of the tools you’ll need to complete your own production. You supply the crew and we supply the tools.
Video Format, Conversion, and Duplication
We offer faculty the tools and service needed to turn analog media into digital format. We support the digitization and duplication of sources such as VHS among others. Requests for this service should be made at least 48 hours before the materials are needed, excluding weekends, via the Multimedia Services Request Form linked immediately above.
Important Information Concerning Copyrights
In order to perform duplication, at least one of the following conditions must be met:
1. YOU ARE THE COPYRIGHT HOLDER (home movies/videos, personal presentations, and the like).
2. YOU HAVE OBTAINED EXPRESS WRITTEN PERMISSION FROM THE COPYRIGHT HOLDER TO MAKE THE DUPLICATION(S). WRITTEN CONSENT MUST BE PROVIDED TO US BEFORE DUPLICATION CAN BEGIN. MATERIAL RECORDED FROM TELEVISION AND MOTION PICTURES CANNOT BE DUPLICATED WITHOUT THE EXPRESS WRITTEN PERMISSION OF THE COPYRIGHT HOLDER.
3. THE RECORDED MATERIAL IS PROPERTY OF THE NORTHWEST ARKANSAS COMMUNITY COLLEGE, AND YOU ARE AUTHORIZED TO HAVE DUPLICATIONS MADE ON BEHALF OF THE NORTHWEST ARKANSAS COMMUNITY COLLEGE.
4. THE MATERIAL IS IN THE PUBLIC DOMAIN.
A copyright holder is the person(s) or organization(s) which owns the rights to the recorded material, whether expressed or implied. If the material is public domain, you must provide us with a written statement from the program originator which indicates that it is in the public domain. (i.e. – NASA provides a public domain notice on its website granting permission to record and duplicate its material without express written consent. A printed copy of this web page would serve as a written statement).
The Library provides multimedia development applications including Adobe Premier Pro, Windows Movie Maker, IMovie, Photoshop, and compression and DVD authoring tools.
