OLD -- Information Literacy Guide for Faculty

What You Need to Know

Scheduling Tips

  • Schedule your session at a time in the semester when information is most helpful for your students, usually within 3 weeks of an assignment due date and very near the time it is introduced to students.
  • Submit your request early to get your preferred date, ideally at least two weeks in advance. 1 week's notice is required.
  • Sessions are generally held in the Library Classroom (BH 1208), which provides a hands-on learning environment. We will also come to any NWACC location.
  • We are available for any scheduled class time, including evenings and Saturday.

Effective library instruction sessions are assignment-based.

  • Faculty should schedule a library session when students are working on a specific assignment.
  • Provide a copy of the assignment with the library session request.
  • Librarians are available to collaborate with instructors in designing an assignment or to review an existing assignment.
  • We will suggest student learning outcomes for the library session based on your assignment's parameters for your approval.
